He is currently the Managing Editor of RESY, after spending several years as Senior Contributing Editor for PUNCH, where his work won him Feature Writer of the Year at the Roederer Awards, and Best Columnist from the IACP.
For nearly a decade, he served as the Wine Editor and Chief Wine Critic of The San Francisco Chronicle, where he co-edited its Food & Wine section, and was honored a half-dozen times by the James Beard Foundation, among many other accolades.
He is also author of the recently published book The New French Wine, along with the bestselling The New California Wine and The New Wine Rules. And he spent several years as the wine consultant for JetBlue Airways, developing its award-winning wine program.
